Indoleacetic acid is an organic substance. Pure product is colorless leafy crystal or crystalline powder. It turns rose when exposed to light. Melting point 165-166 ºC (168-170 ºC). Soluble in absolute ethanol and dichloroethane, soluble in ether.
Insoluble in benzene. Insoluble in water, its aqueous solution can be decomposed by ultraviolet light, but it is stable to visible light. Its sodium salt and potassium salt are more stable than acid itself and are very soluble in water. It is easy to decarboxylate to 3-methylindole (stink). It has duality to plant growth. Different parts of plants have different sensitivity to it. Generally, the root is greater than the bud and greater than the stem. Different plants have different sensitivity to it.
Indolylacetic acid (IAA) is a kind of indole broad-spectrum plant growth regulator with somatotropin activity.
1.IAA affects cell division and cell elongation.
2.IAA is used to stimulate rooting of herbaceous and woody ornamentals and increase the size of fruit.
3.IAA prevents blossom fall and fruit drop before fructification and fruit ripening, flower & fruit thinning flower introduction, increase output.
Auxin IAA is a kind of indole broad-spectrum plant growth regulator with somatotropin activity.
1. IAA can be used on adventitious root formation, such as tea tree, pepper and so on.
2. IAA can promote fruit-setting, fruit-enlargement, yield-increasing, such as sugar beet, tomato, cornpotato.
